Taiwan to Remove Outdoor Mask Mandates Starting Dec. 1

Taiwan’s Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) has announced that it will lift the outdoor mask mandates starting December 1, 2022, as domestic Covid-19 cases have fallen continuously.

CECC Head Victor Wang said that daily infections have plummeted to 10,000 cases, and the authority will loosen Covid restrictions, including a lift on outdoor mask mandates, but indoor rules will remain in place.

The mask must be worn even when going indoors, including the interiors of MRT trains, ships, and aircraft. However, table-by-table toasting with wine or tea is now allowed at banquets.
