Equities Mixed on Monday as Surging Omicron Cases Pose Renewed Threat to Recovery

Asian equities were mixed on Monday with Chinese economic data came in as strong despite surging COVID-19 cased in the country.

The SET, TOPIX, CSI300 closed advancing by 0.25%, 0.46% and 0.86% respectively. While KOSPI and HSI closed down by 1.09% and 0.68% respectively.

U.S. futures Dow Jone, S&P and Nasdaq opened higher by 0.16%, 0.12% and 0.07% respectively.

Crude oil parted early gains with WTI inched down by 0.01% to $83.84 per barrel and Brent inching down by 0.24% to $85.85 per barrel.
