Asian Equities Mixed after Lunar Year Holidays, Oil Dipped while Bitcoin Rallies

Asian markets were mixed on Monday as major markets returned from Lunar year holidays.

The CSI 300 jumped 1.54% on close tracking earlier gains of HSI. The HSI and SET closed down inching up by 0.03% and 3.02% respectively while KOSPI and TOPIX inched down by 0.19% and 0.24% respectively.

U.S. futures shed loss on today’s opening with Dow Jones, S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 down by 0.22%, 0.18% and 0.16% respectively.

Crude oil futures fell after a run of seven consecutive weekly gains pushed it to the highest level since 2014. The WTI is down by 1.49% to $90.93 per barrel while Brent is down by 1.07% to $92.29 per barrel.

Meanwhile, Bitcoin climbed above $42,000 to the highest in over two weeks.
