MAJOR Swings Back to Profit in 2021, Offering a Dividend of THB0.60

Major Cineplex Group Public Company Limited (SET: MAJOR) has announced its 2021 consolidated financial statement as follows;

MAJOR reported a net profit of THB1,581 million in 2021 compared to a net loss of THB527 million in the same period of the previous year, an increase by 400% which mainly reason are from the company recognized profit from the disposal of investment in Siam Future Development Public Company Limited (SET: SF) in amount of THB3,163 million.

Total revenues from sales and services for year 2021 was THB3,010 million compared  with the previous year, which was THB3,765 million, decreased THB756 million or decreased by 20%, which the main reason is the company’s movie theaters and other businesses have to temporary closed according to prevention protocol of the spread of COVID-19 since 3rd April 2021 until 30th September 2021 which took longer than the previous year that closed since 18th March 2020 to 31st May 2020 affecting the ticket sales of year 2021 to decrease significantly.  

Nevertheless the company expanded multi-channel to distribute popcorn and beverages besides selling only at the movie theaters which has been well responded by consumers.

 

In addition, the Board of Directors passed a resolution to pay the remaining dividend from the year 2021 at the rate of THB0.60 per share. The Ex-dividend date (XD) is set for 21st April 2022. The payment of the interim dividend will be made on 6th May 2022.
