(Correct) World’s 19th Largest Refinery Temporarily Shutdown after Fire Incident

BP Plc (BP.L) said on Wednesday that some of its units affected by an electrical fire at its 430,000 barrel-per-day Whiting refinery in Indiana had been temporarily shutdown.

According to the statement from BP, the fire has been extinguished and it is determining when the affected units will be restarted. No one was injured and there were no known impacts outside its refinery.

The Refinery Margin Dubai Crack-Singapore was $11.79 per barrel on August 25, 2022, down from its record high of $30.49 per barrel in June, but still posting an increase of 92% year-to-date.

Whiting refinery, operated by BP Plc, is the United States of America’s sixth largest refinery and 19th largest refinery in the world, according to data compiled by Refinitiv.
