Shares of Thai Life Insurance Plunge 4.5% after Failing to Enter MSCI Index

The share price of Thai Life Insurance plunged 4.55% to THB14.70 at the opening bell on Friday after the announcement of MSCI review that did not include the securities into the index as the market had anticipated.

Thai Life Insurance Public Company Limited (SET: TLI) was widely expected to be included in the MSCI Global Standard Index in the November review after missing its opportunity to list in the SET 50 Index with a fast track measure due to a mute first trading day, resulting in missing the criteria for the measure.

However, the recent MSCI review did not include Thailand’s giant life insurer into either its MSCI Global Small Cap or MSCI Global Standard.
