Arrivals to Thailand Will Opt for Phuket Sandbox or Quarantine Starting Jan. 10

New tourist arrivals from January 10, 2022, onward coming to Thailand will be eligible for either Phuket Sandbox or Quarantine measures, according to the Office of the Prime Minister’s spokesman citing the Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha.

Due to the ongoing spread of the Covid-19 omicron variant, the Thai Prime Minister orders authorities to monitor the situation closely after the new year holiday and urges Thais to get the Covid-19 vaccine, including the booster shot to stimulate the immune system to help against severity.

In addition, the Thai PM asks the public and private sectors for corporations to work from home after the new year for 14 days to prevent the spread of Covid-19. However, if required to be present at the office, the company should provide a Covid test before entering the company and another two tests every three days.
