True Corporation Plc. (SET: TRUE) continues to strengthen its communications support mission during the flood situation at Pang Ung, Chiang Mai Province, by installing free WiFi service points covering temporary shelters at Mae Suek Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Pang Ung School, and the Emergency Command Center for Flood Relief in Mae Chaem District, Chiang Mai Province. The service operates 24 hours a day, supporting free access across all mobile networks to enable over 130 evacuated residents, along with officials, doctors, and nurses, to communicate conveniently and continuously. True Corporation has also delivered essential supplies to alleviate the hardships of flood victims at the shelter centers.
This free WiFi installation is part of True Corporation’s emergency response measures, continuing from the reinforcement of 5G and 4G mobile signals through Cell-on-Wheels (COW) units deployed at critical locations. The company is also maintaining key base stations serving as community hubs in Pang Ung, with emergency power generators installed to ensure communication systems remain operational during power outages caused by heavy rainfall.
Typhoon Kajiki’s impact across the North has brought heavy rainfall, landslides, and flooding to many areas of Mae Chaem District, severely affecting local communities. True Corporation deployed network teams to the flood- and landslide-affected zones to assess the situation and urgently establish emergency communication systems. These measures include providing power generators and fuel reserves for base stations, preparing additional backup batteries, and arranging access to flooded areas with 4WD vehicles and flat-bottom boats.
True Corporation has also continuously deployed emergency repair teams with spare equipment to ensure communication services remain available in all circumstances. This enables residents to stay connected with family and friends, while also accessing the internet for essential information and services. Mobile signals further support government officials, doctors, and nurses in carrying out their operations, where reliable communications are critical.
In addition, True Corporation has established a War Room at the Business and Network Intelligence Center (BNIC) as a central hub for 24-hour network monitoring and management. AI systems provide real-time situation analysis and automatic network optimization to ensure comprehensive and efficient signal coverage across all areas.
Collaboration with government agencies is a key priority. True Corporation has worked closely with the NBTC, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), local authorities, and private organizations to maximize efficiency. This integrated approach helps ease immediate hardships and reassures the public that, even in times of crisis, communication systems will remain reliable.
