AOT Appoints ‘Paweena Jariyathitipong’ as New President, Eyes Aeronautical Revenue for Sustainable Growth

Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (SET: AOT) has announced the appointment of Ms. Paweena Jariyathitipong, Senior Executive Vice President (Engineering and Construction), as the company’s new President, succeeding Mr. Kerati Kijmanawat. The board’s decision comes based on a recommendation by the search committee.

Ms. Paweena was selected from a pool that included Mr. Anake Teeraviwatchai, AOT’s Senior Executive Vice President (Corporate Strategy), and Mr. Peerakan Kaewwongwattana, former Managing Director of Airport Rail Link and former Director of Air Transport at Thai AirAsia.

The finalization of her appointment is expected to take about a month, as compensation negotiations must be concluded before the contract can be submitted for board approval.

Paweena’s main strategic vision centers on driving sustainable growth through enhanced aeronautical revenues, aiming to reduce AOT’s longstanding reliance on non-aeronautical income—particularly from King Power. Notably, negotiations over duty-free contracts with King Power are expected to be finalized by October.

Paweena brings a strong background in engineering, holding a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering and Modern Science from Okayama University, Japan, and a Master’s degree in Social System Management from Hiroshima University. She graduated in civil engineering from Thammasat University and has completed several executive director and finance programs through the Thai Institute of Directors (Thai IOD).

Her career includes recent board and executive roles at Bangkok Aviation Fuel Services (BAFS) and Forth MRO Service, as well as a significant track record within AOT’s engineering, business development, and marketing divisions.

This signals a shift in AOT’s leadership focus as the company seeks to strengthen its core aviation businesses and build more sustainable revenue streams for the future.
