On Tuesday (14 October 2025), Mr. Siripong Angkasakulkiat, spokesperson for the Office of the Prime Minister, stated that the Cabinet of Thailand approved the framework and investment budget for state enterprises for the fiscal year 2026, with a total amount of approximately THB 1.6 trillion, expecting to help stimulate economic growth (GDP) by around 0.3%.
Additionally, the Cabinet resolved to instruct the State Enterprise Policy Office (SEPO) to set guidelines for various state enterprises to revise regulations and procedures that still hinder public services, emphasizing a “Customer Centric” approach or citizen-centered service. For example, the process of paying for water and electricity bills or other services that are still inconvenient should be improved as soon as possible.
At the same time, the Cabinet also approved the 2027 annual policy framework, which Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, will announce on December 1, 2025. However, according to the previously approved framework, which corresponds with the government’s announced timeline to dissolve the House of Representatives in January 2026, the 2027 budget may be delayed.
Therefore, the Prime Minister approved in principle to adjust the timeframe and timeline for the 2027 budget framework to align with the new government. The Budget Bureau will further consider this matter.
