Mr. Pravit Horungruang, Chief Executive Officer of Millcon Steel Public Company Limited (SET: MILL), stated that the company’s overall business outlook remains positive. After previously resuming operations at its rolling mill, Millcon has now officially restarted its melting plant. The company has set a target to produce 600,000 tons next year, from its total production capacity of 800,000 tons.
Mr. Pravit stated that Millcon’s resumption of production marks another significant step towards reviving Thailand’s steel production capacity, particularly in the manufacturing of rebar and structural steel that meets the EF (Electric Furnace Steel) standard. This technology, using electric furnace steelmaking, is internationally recognized, enables precise quality control, results in high purity, and is environmentally friendly.
Millcon is committed to producing high-quality steel that meets Thai Industrial Standards and other international standards to foster consumer confidence and support users in Thailand’s construction industry.
Every production step is strictly quality-controlled, with ongoing technological and process improvements to ensure high-quality, safe, and sustainable steel that meets market needs and supports the country’s infrastructure over the long term. The company is prepared to drive Thailand’s steel industry towards sustainable growth.
“The resumption of Millcon’s melting plant is not only enhancing the company’s production capacity, but it also reinforces confidence that Thai-made EF steel can proudly stand alongside global standards,” according to Mr. Pravit.
