Mr. Koraphat Vorachet, Head of Research at Krungsri Securities (KSS), stated that the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) Index is still trying to establish a base within the 1,260–1,270 point range. As of the morning session, the index fell by 0.33%, or 4.20 points, to 1,265.84 points.
The market is awaiting direction on U.S. interest rates, speculating on whether the Federal Reserve will cut rates in December after seeing signs of a slowing labor market.
Market expectations for a rate cut have risen to nearly 50%, up from 40%, with the High Yield Credit Spread climbing higher—reflecting economic worries and risks—while the Fed committee is expected to keep rates steady in December.
For the afternoon trading session, the market trend is forecast to continue fluctuating within the same range, with support at 1,260 points and resistance at 1,285 points.
