Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (SET: AOT) has appointed Miss Paweena Jariyathitipong as its new president, marking the first time a woman has taken the helm in the company’s history. The appointment, effective January 16, 2026, follows a unanimous decision by AOT’s Board of Directors at its meeting on December 24, 2025, chaired by Mr. Apirat Chaiwongnoi.
Paweena brings a wealth of experience in airport management, with deep expertise in finance, engineering, business administration, commerce, and services. She succeeds as AOT pursues a major organizational transformation, aiming to elevate Thailand’s airports to global standards.
In her first statement, Paweena emphasized her commitment to advancing AOT under the vision of “World Class Hospitality.” She outlined plans to significantly enhance passenger experience at every touchpoint, from infrastructure and amenities to premium, modern services tailored to contemporary traveler needs.
A key priority for Paweena is the acceleration of investment projects under the “Smart Investment” initiative, designed to ensure optimal returns for the company. She stressed the need to adjust revenue structures—balancing both aeronautical and non-aeronautical income streams—to strengthen long-term financial sustainability, in line with actual operational costs.
She also highlighted intentions to build a highly agile and responsive team capable of adapting to ongoing change and collaborating efficiently across functions. Paweena’s leadership is expected to drive AOT through the headwinds of the global aviation industry, focusing on prudent cost management, effective investments, and improved financial resilience.
AOT’s new president is also committed to fostering solid investor confidence and reinforcing the company’s role in supporting the economy. Her vision underlines a balanced management approach while reinforcing Thailand’s ambition to become a leading aviation hub in the region.
