SK Hynix released its 2025 financial results on Wednesday, reporting a record profit propelled by growing global demand for artificial intelligence applications that has sharply raised prices for both high-end and conventional memory.
For 2025, SK Hynix’s operating profit reached KRW 47.2 trillion, a jump of more than 100% from the previous year, while annual revenue expanded by 46.8% to KRW 97.15 trillion won. The company’s fourth quarter alone saw a 137.1% year-on-year increase in operating profit to KRW 19.17 trillion, with quarterly revenue climbing 66.1% to KRW 32.83 trillion.
The strong results were primarily attributed to heightened AI infrastructure race worldwide. Demand for high bandwidth memory (HBM), which is key for AI accelerators, and increased sales of standard DRAM and NAND flash memory contributed to the company’s record profits for a third consecutive quarter.
SK Hynix announced an additional dividend distribution totalling KRW 1 trillion, bringing the year-end payout to 1,875 won per share. The firm also confirmed plans to cancel treasury shares valued at KRW 12.2 trillion.
