Bangchak Tanker Clears Hormuz Bottleneck with Diplomatic Backing from Thailand, Iran and Oman

Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited provided an update that a crude oil tanker carrying its cargo from the Middle East, which had been anchored in the Persian Gulf since 11 March, has recently transited the Strait of Hormuz safely.

The Company has expressed its appreciation to the Thai Government, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for coordinating with relevant authorities, as well as to the Governments of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Sultanate of Oman, in facilitating the vessel’s passage in accordance with international law.

The tanker is currently on its way across the Indian Ocean and is expected to deliver crude oil to Thailand in early April.

Bangchak continues to monitor the situation closely and hopes the remainder of the journey will proceed smoothly, while prioritizing safe transportation and steady energy supply for the country.
