Thai Oil Assures No Financial Impact from Lighting Strike Incident on Crude Oil Storage

Thai Oil Public Company Limited (SET: TOP) has informed the Stock Exchange of Thailand that on 4 May 2026 at approximately 4:30 p.m., a lightning strike occurred on the roof of a crude oil storage tank within the company’s refinery premises in Chonburi Province, resulting in a limited fire at the tank roof area.

The company’s emergency response and firefighting team promptly took control of the situation in accordance with established safety and emergency response procedures, and the fire was extinguished within a short period of time. No injuries were reported, and there was no impact on the surrounding communities or the environment.

Furthermore, the incident did not affect the structural integrity of the crude oil storage tank nor did it compromise the safety of the production process. The company’s refinery continues to operate as normal.

At present, the situation has returned to normal. The company is in the process of assessing the damage, which is expected to be limited and not material to the company’s financial position or operating results.
