GUNKUL Signs Three Renewable Energy PPAs to Expand Green Power Portfolio

Gunkul Engineering Public Company Limited (SET: GUNKUL) has informed the Stock Exchange of Thailand that the company’s subsidiaries have entered into power purchase agreements (PPAs) for three renewable energy power projects selected pursuant to the Notification of the Office of the Energy Regulatory Commission Re: List of Selected Power Generation Applicants under the Regulation of the Energy Regulatory Commission on the Procurement of Electricity from Renewable Energy under the Feed-in Tariff (FiT) Scheme for the Years 2022–2030 for the No-Fuel-Cost Group B.E. 2565 (2022) (Additional) B.E. 2567 (2024).

The three projects have an aggregate contracted capacity of 57.2 megawatts, with details as follows:

  1. Two 7.8 megawatts solar power projects from Gunkul One Energy 5 Co., Ltd., which was signed with the Provincial Electricity Authority at a FiT rate of THB 2.1579 per kWh. These projects were scheduled for commercial operation in 2027 and 2028 respectively.
  2. One 41.6 megawatts wind power project from Gunkul Wind Development 1 Co., Ltd.. which was signed with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand at a FiT rate of THB 3.1014 per kWh. The project was scheduled for commercial operation in 2029.

Each PPA has a term of 25 years, and the company holds 99.99% of the shares in each relevant subsidiary.

Upon inclusion of the aforementioned projects in GUNKUL group’s existing green power plant portfolio, both domestically and internationally, the group’s total equity installed capacity will increase to 2,121 megawatts. This is in line with the group’s strategy to expand its clean energy investments across both solar and wind power projects, thereby strengthening its power generation portfolio and supporting the generation of stable, long-term revenue streams.

Furthermore, GUNKUL remains committed to operating its business and continuously expanding investments in renewable energy projects to increase clean power generation capacity and support the country’s energy security. These efforts are undertaken in line with the company’s vision, “The most recognized partner in inclusive green energy and infrastructure across Asia,” with due regard to stakeholders across economic, social and environmental dimensions, while advancing toward Carbon Neutrality by 2050.
