Thailand’s SET Index closed at 1,652.97 points, increased 6.97 points or 0.42%, with a trading value of THB 97.96 billion. The analyst stated that the Thai market traded sideways-up despite sell-on-fact pressures from the banking sector after earnings reports.
The Thai stock index was supported by rallies in DELTA and the construction sector from the prospect of the Landbridge project, as well as continued foreign fund inflows.
For tomorrow, the analyst expects positive momentum for the Thai market as sector rotation continues. However, the tightening market valuation—seen as the highest compared to other regional markets—is flagged as a notable risk.
U.S. President Donald Trump enacted 50% tariffs on a broad scope of Canadian imports, citing what he described as discriminatory practices by Canada against American-made vehicles, alcoholic beverages, and dairy products. The new measures affect a variety of goods, some of which were previously protected from duties under the USMCA agreement.
