On Monday, Thailand’s SET Index closed the morning trading session at 1,632.48 points, showing a decrease of 11.91 points or 0.72%, with a trading value of THB 53.88 billion.
Maybank Securities (Thailand) stated that the Thai stock market declined during the morning session, primarily pressured by selling in DELTA after its second-quarter 2026 results came in below expectations, exerting significant downward pressure on the market.
Although external factors such as the temporary ceasefire in the Middle East have led to short-term relief, they may continue to weigh on stocks in the oil, refinery, and petrochemical sectors, which saw a pullback during the session.
Conversely, other sectors that were previously pressured by geopolitical tensions in the Middle East began to recover, with tourism stocks exhibiting particularly strong gains. Toward the end of the morning session, there was also renewed buying interest in banking stocks.
For the afternoon session, the trend for the Thai bourse is expected to remain negative. Maybank provided resistance at 1,650 points and support at 1,620 points.
