CRC Acquires AEON (Thailand) to Bolster Food Business

Central Retail Corporation Public Company Limited (SET: CRC) has informed the Stock Exchange of Thailand that on August 7, 2026, Central Food Retail Co., Ltd. (CFR), a 100% directly and indirectly owned subsidiary of the company, has signed the share purchase agreement for the acquisition of ordinary shares in AEON (Thailand) Co., Ltd.

AEON (Thailand) operates 30 supermarket chains under the MaxValu trademark. The subsidiary has a registered capital of THB 890 million with a par value of THB 100 per share, of which CFR now holds 100% of the shares.

This transaction aligns with CRC’s strategy to strengthen the food business. It enables CFR to immediately expand its supermarket branch network and grow its customer base by over 900,000 customers. Furthermore, CFR will also secure ownership of high potential land and a ready-to-eat processing center, which elevates production capacity and enhances the development of ready-to-eat food products —creating product differentiation to better meet consumer demands.

The transaction will be completed upon the satisfaction of all conditions precedent as stipulated in the relevant agreement. Following completion of the transaction, CFR will leverage its retail expertise to develop and enhance the operational efficiency of the acquired business. All branches will be rebranded as TOPS and integrated into CFR’s ecosystem, with the aim of further strengthening the business performance.
