Thailand’s SET Index closed at 1,612.62 points, decreased 11.74 points or 0.72%, with a trading value of THB 69.95 billion. The analyst stated that the Thai stock market edged lower from profit-taking activities in DELTA, as well as the banking and retail sectors. Meanwhile, the energy and petrochemical sector continued to benefit from rising oil prices.

Market participants remain focused on listed companies’ 2Q26 financial results slated for later this week. For Thursday, the analyst anticipates sector rotation in the Thai benchmark.

 

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has requested a royal command for the removal of Clinical Professor Dr. Sarana Boonbaichaiyapruck from his position as Chairman of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC).

Previously, the NBTC board unanimously voted to disqualify Dr. Sarana as chairman, stating that he possessed prohibited characteristics under the NBTC Act, as he continued to serve as an hourly-compensated physician at Ramathibodi Hospital up to just one day before the royal appointment.
