Market Roundup 9 September 2026

Thailand’s SET Index closed at 1,617.89 points, decreasing by 4.00 points or 0.25%, with a trading value of THB 81.33 billion. The analyst stated that the Thai stock market moved sideways-down within a limited range. Notable selling pressure was from the electronics and banking sectors, with some in the latter group reaching the ex-dividend (XD) date.

Furthermore, the market also faced external headwinds from concerns over Middle East tensions, which raised oil prices. However, higher crude prices also benefit local energy names, helping cushion the broader decline.

For tomorrow, the analyst expects the Thai market to trade sideways within range.

Thailand’s Ministry of Finance is preparing to open registration for the household solar installation project—covering both rooftop solar and ground-mounted solar—offering an initial subsidy of THB 50,000 per right for 1 million rights, with a total budget of THB 50 billion, starting in mid-October 2026.
