Thai Credit Bank Public Company Limited (SET: CREDIT) reaffirms its commitment to driving business operations based on ESG principles and its “Everyone Matters” philosophy by officially launching the “Yaek Dee Mee Credit” (Good Wastes Sorting Wins Credit) project at Min Buri Market Shopping Center, collaborating with three key partners: Min Buri Market Shopping Center, WasteBuy Delivery Co., Ltd., and the Min Buri District Office.
The initiative aims to create the prototype waste management model for fresh markets, improve hygiene in the marketplace, transform recyclable waste into value and supplementary income and foster sustainability for small entrepreneurs across the area.
The opening ceremony was honored by the presence of Mr. Sakchai Siriwan, Director of Min Buri District, presiding over the ceremony, together with the executive led by Ms. Khemruthai Asavanon, Senior Vice President, and Ms. Ratinan Wongwatcharanon, First Vice President of Thai Credit Bank Public Company Limited. They were joined by partner executives, including Mrs. Channipa Sathirapanya, Executive Vice President of Min Buri Market Shopping Center; Dr. Itthikon Srichanban, CEO; Ms. Poonwan Na Rajasima, Executive Assistant to the CEO; and Mrs. Yuwadee Boonpiem, Head of CSR at Wastebuy Delivery Co., Ltd., with a team of supporters, all uniting to drive the project forward, held on the road in front of Thai Credit Bank’s Min Buri Branch (Zone Food) at Min Buri Market Shopping Center.
The “Yaek Dee Mee Credit” project stems from Thai Credit Bank’s commitment to comprehensively supporting micro-entrepreneurs and grassroots communities. Going beyond its role as a financial service provider, the bank prioritizes uplifting the quality of life and improving the local environment. This initiative enables vendors at Min Buri Market to sort and sell recyclable waste and used cooking oil from their stalls for “instant cash”, thereby reducing costs and creating extra income. Additionally, the project systematically tracks data to convert sorted waste volumes into greenhouse gas reduction metrics (Carbon Footprint Reduction). This demonstrates that even small market stalls can play a vital, tangible role in environmental restoration and global conservation.
First-Month Success! The “Yaek Dee Mee Credit” initiative unites small entrepreneurs to turn waste into cash, tangibly supporting carbon footprint reduction within the community.
In its first month at Min Buri Market, the project received an enthusiastic response, collecting a total of 2,285.10 kilograms of recyclable waste and used cooking oil. Beyond generating THB 5,618.32 in extra income for merchants, the effort reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 3,952.21 kgCO₂e, an impact equivalent to planting over 409 fully grown trees. This achievement highlights the immense power of micro entrepreneurs in driving tangible, positive environmental change.
Additionally, the event featured a ceremony to present the “This Shop Helps the World” emblem and certificates of honor to the top three model merchants of the month (Monthly Top 3) with the highest waste sorting and carbon footprint reduction. These recognition honors aim to recognize exemplary vendors, boost their public profile, and inspire neighboring stalls to join the movement toward becoming a Green Fresh Market.
Thai Credit Bank aims to establish Min Buri Market as a pilot model for sharing on inspiration and practical knowledge and waste management strategies with other fresh markets nationwide, thereby fostering stable and sustainable growth for small entrepreneurs, communities, and the environment.
