Thailand’s SET Index closed at 1,584.15 points, increasing by 0.81 points or 0.05%, with a trading value of THB 71.44 billion. The analyst stated that the Thai stock market traded sideways within a limited range due to a lack of new catalysts. This came after an outstanding rally yesterday.
The analyst noted strong foreign buying in the banking and ICT sectors today, while declining oil prices helped ease inflation concerns.
For next week, the analyst expects the Thai benchmark to move sideways-up, while recommending investors closely monitor the meeting between the U.S. and China’s leaders.
Japan’s central bank lifted its benchmark interest rate to 1.25%, the highest since 1995. The decision, which was anticipated by markets, aims to guard against inflation exceeding the Bank of Japan’s 2% target.
