Thai Airways Ramps Up Baggage Delivery as Suvarnabhumi Airport Disruption Continues

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (SET: THAI) is accelerating efforts to clear a backlog of delayed baggage at Suvarnabhumi Airport, deploying additional personnel and resources as the disruption continues to affect passengers.

The latest update came after THAI faced mounting disruption at its Bangkok hub, with passengers reporting lengthy flight delays, baggage delays, and flight cancellations in recent days.

Chai Eamsiri, THAI’s Chief Executive Officer, apologized to affected passengers and said the airline was making every effort to reunite them with their baggage as quickly as possible.

“I sincerely apologize to all passengers for the inconvenience caused. Thai Airways is making every effort to ensure that passengers are reunited with their baggage as soon as possible. We will continue to closely monitor the situation until all affected baggage has been successfully delivered,” Chai said.

THAI said baggage from 52 flights operated on September 26–27, 2026 is currently being processed and delivered to passengers who have already registered their details. The airline said the delivery operation would continue until all remaining baggage has been returned to passengers.

Meanwhile, 34 THAI flights experienced delays on September 28, highlighting the continued impact on flight operations at Suvarnabhumi Airport.

The latest update follows THAI’s announcement that it would cancel selected flights on September 29–30 due to the impact of flooding in Bangkok and surrounding areas. The cancelled services include routes to Udon Thani, New Delhi, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Frankfurt, Munich, and Brussels.

The airline has come under growing pressure over the disruption at Suvarnabhumi Airport, where passengers have faced extended waits for delayed baggage alongside flight delays and cancellations.

THAI said passengers who have already registered their delayed baggage can track or arrange for its return through several channels.

Passengers collecting baggage in person can contact the Baggage Services Office on Level 2, in front of the Domestic Arrivals Exit, from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. at +66 2 134 5373–74.

For passengers who registered their baggage information via QR code, THAI will arrange delivery to the address provided during registration.

Passengers who have not yet registered their baggage, or require further information, can contact +66 2 134 5373–74 for domestic flights or +66 2 134 5466–68 for international flights.

THAI said its staff will contact passengers by telephone or email to verify their information before arranging baggage delivery.

The airline again apologized for the disruption and said it would continue to expedite baggage handling and delivery until all affected passengers have received their belongings.
