OR and Centara Reaffirm Six Thai-Pioneer Hotels in 2027, Eyes Expansion to 50 by 2031

M.L. Peekthong Thongyai, Chief Executive Officer of PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited (SET: OR), has reiterated the company’s operating goal in seeking new businesses is to serve consumer lifestyles and further complete the OR Ecosystem.

The CEO noted that Thailand’s tourism industry continues to show positive signals and growth opportunities despite several pressuring factors, driven by government measures to stimulate travel while raising safety standards to build confidence among domestic and foreign tourists. This is particularly evident in Phuket, a major destination for Thai and international travelers, where OR operates an aviation refueling business providing services compliant with international JIG Standards to more than 30 domestic and international airlines.

Rajsuda Rungsiyakull, Senior Executive Vice President, Special Affairs 1 at OR, stated that the company signed a joint venture agreement with Centara Hotels & Resorts in April 2026, with OR holding a 49% equity stake and Centara holding 51%, to develop budget hotels on high-potential sites both inside and outside PTT service stations. The service station network is distributed along major highways nationwide with easy access, aimed at offering convenient accommodation choices that meet the needs of modern travelers.

For the first phase, a pilot project will introduce six prototype hotels in prime locations, including Phuket, Kanchanaburi, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Songkhla (Hat Yai), Chonburi, and Bangkok, serving tourists, motorists, and business travelers requiring stopover lodging along their routes.

The hotel’s rooms will feature essential amenities and accommodate friendly design principles from building entrances to guest rooms to promote equality and provide accessible facilities for consumers of all physical conditions—including persons with disabilities, the elderly, pregnant women, and children. The facilities will offer parking and 24-hour CCTV monitoring, emphasizing convenience, safety, cleanliness, and value at affordable rates starting from THB 800 to 1,300 per night.

Additionally, the hotels are designed with energy efficiency and environmental sustainability in mind, with operations expected to launch gradually during 2027 – 2028 and a target to expand to 50 locations by 2031. This expansion will build upon OR’s core business, transforming PTT stations from mere rest stops for refueling or coffee into safe, standardized overnight destinations nationwide.

The hotel project will maximize the utilization of existing land, generate added value, convert service users into hotel guests, create new revenue streams from the existing customer base, and support the recovery of Thailand’s tourism sector.

Overall, these operations reflect the “OR Fulfills Opportunities DeeDeeDee” concept, which aims to foster a “good environment” through clean energy and circular economy principles, alongside building a “good community” by distributing income to local entrepreneurs and comprehensively improving quality of life.

This framework drives “good growth” alongside partners and society in a sustainable manner, reinforcing that every service across the OR Ecosystem—from aviation refueling and budget hotels to every rest stop at PTT station—is not merely a waypoint, but the beginning of a journey that creates shared value for people, communities, and the environment.
