On Thursday, Thailand’s SET Index closed the morning trading session at 1,578.96 points, showing a decrease of 5.67 points or 0.36%, with a trading value of THB 31.29 billion.
AIRA Securities stated that the Thai stock market declined this morning in line with regional markets and global risk assets. The drop followed the release of the minutes from the U.S. Federal Reserve’s September FOMC meeting, which indicated that the majority of the committee members see the possibility of another interest rate hike before the end of this year, citing persistently high inflation. As a result, U.S. Treasury yields remained elevated.
In the domestic market, profit-taking was seen in stocks that had previously rallied, particularly within the banking sector, as there are growing expectations that third-quarter 2026 earnings could weaken. Refinery stocks such as TOP and SPRC also saw gradual sell-offs.
The afternoon outlook is expected to be similar to the morning, with sideways movement anticipated in the absence of new catalysts. Technical support is seen at 1,575 and 1,570 points, while resistance is noted at 1,585 and 1,590 points.
The five stocks with the highest trading value are as follows:
