SET Index Sees Broad-Based Decline Amid Regional Market Weakness, Investors Await 3Q26 Results

On Tuesday, Thailand’s SET Index closed the morning trading session at 1,563.77 points, showing a decrease of 7.95 points or 0.51%, with a trading value of THB 29.01 billion.

Bualuang Securities (BLS) stated that the Thai stock market experienced a broad-based decline this morning, in line with other regional markets, particularly affecting technology stocks. There was notable selling pressure in the banking sector, despite KKP reporting a strong earnings signal that lifted its share price.

Investors, however, are holding off for the upcoming financial results from other banks, as concerns persist, leading to selective buying. Notably, there was speculative buying activity in some banking stocks yesterday.

In the electronics component sector, the group fell in tandem with the correction seen in international technology shares. Only a few large-cap tech stocks managed slight gains, while companies linked to the tech supply chain began to lose momentum. Investors remain concerned about DELTA’s 3Q26 earnings due to supply shortages. Should the forthcoming results show solid growth, the stock may recover.

There was also selling pressure in stocks related to meat processing, with CPF experiencing a sharper decline than its peers following a business update. CPF’s third-quarter 2026 profit recovery is estimated to be slower than anticipated due to its pork business in China, prompting a downward revision of forecasts. However, there is an assessment that pork prices are beginning to recover, which could ease some of the negative outlook, while GFPT also declined, following the negative sentiment.

According to Bualuang, traders sought safe-haven stocks and those with lagging prices this morning, particularly in the commerce, finance, and hospital sectors.

The afternoon outlook suggests the Thai bourse is likely to remain in negative territory, given that regional markets—particularly Taiwan and South Korea—continue to move lower. Investors are recommended to watch for bank earnings announcements today, particularly from BBL, TTB, and KTC.

Support is projected at 1,550 points, with resistance at 1,570 points and a secondary resistance at 1,580 points.
