SET Index Edges Up on Buying Interest in Banking Sector, Investors Focus on Earnings Results

On Thursday, Thailand’s SET Index closed the morning trading session at 1,561.47 points, showing an increase of 5.38 points or 0.35%, with a trading value of THB 36.56 billion.

Maybank Securities (Thailand) stated that the Thai stock market experienced an upward swing during the morning session, supported by renewed buying interest in the banking sector. This followed the release of third-quarter 2026 earnings results from major banks, which largely met market expectations.

Additionally, shares in the tourism sector saw gains, buoyed by news that the Ministry of Finance may postpone the implementation of outbound tax collections.

Net foreign inflows are anticipated to continue, as foreign investors returned to net buying positions yesterday, providing further support to the Thai stock market during this period. However, there remain no significant new drivers, with investors continuing to monitor the ongoing release of earnings results from other listed companies.

Looking ahead to the afternoon session, Maybank projects that the SET Index will continue to trend higher, with resistance expected at 1,580 points and support at 1,550 points.
