Thailand’s SET Index closed at 1,544.60 points, decreasing by 21.50 points or 1.37%, with a trading value of THB 68.97 billion. The analyst stated that the Thai stock market plunged due to selling pressure in the petrochemical sector, particularly from PTTGC and SCC, as the latter’s weaker-than-expected 3Q26 performance raised concerns over the prior’s.
Furthermore, the oil-linked sector also faced pressure from the government’s fuel price formula revision, which threatened revenue and profitability. In addition, sharp selling in DELTA also contributed to the downtrend.
For tomorrow, the analyst expects the Thai market to move sideways within range.
The U.S. Federal Reserve left its policy rate at 3.75% – 4% while maintaining its commitment to bring inflation under control. Investors continued to anticipate tighter monetary policy, with market pricing pointing to a likely increase in December.
