On Wednesday at 10:57 AM (Bangkok time), the share price of Betagro Public Company Limited (SET: BTG) jumped by 4.63% or THB 1.00 to THB 22.60, with a trading value of THB 199.18 million.
Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (SET: CPF) surged 3.05% or THB 0.60 to THB 20.30, with a trading value of THB 460.97 million.
Kasikorn Securities (KS) noted that shares of BTG and CPF rose on Wednesday morning, likely supported by positive sentiment following reports that several countries have advised citizens to prepare a 3–7 day supply of food and essential goods amid ongoing uncertainty and natural disaster risks.
This has provided a tailwind for food and beverage stocks, particularly for the above-mentioned equities, both of which have core businesses in meat products—staple necessities for daily living.
In terms of overall market trends, the prices of pork and chicken saw an improvement in October. Notably, pork prices in China increased by over 5%, further benefiting both BTG and CPF, given their significant presence in the swine business.
Additionally, animal feed costs are showing signs of a downward trend following a decline in energy prices. These factors may collectively signal a positive outlook and potential recovery for both companies in the fourth quarter of 2026.
