In a meeting to discuss Thailand’s tourism situation, involving the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), a target was set to achieve a total tourism revenue of 3 trillion baht by 2025.
This goal aims to bring tourism revenue back to the level seen in 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic. The revenue is expected to be sourced from 2 trillion baht from international tourists and 1 trillion baht from domestic tourists.
However, this new projection was lower than the previous goal set at 3.5 trillion baht for the current year.
The Ministry of Tourism and Sports has directed the Tourism Authority of Thailand to adjust its marketing strategies for the latter half of 2025. This comes in response to various issues affecting tourism, including concerns over travel safety, recent earthquakes, and external factors such as the retaliatory tax policies under U.S. President Donald Trump.
