ADVANC Addresses Reports with No Agreement Yet on NT Customer Acquisition Deal

Advanced Info Service Public Company Limited (SET: ADVANC) has disclosed information through the Stock Exchange of Thailand that the company there is currently no agreement  or any progress on the deal, following the report this morning that indicated the company will acquire customers from National Telecom along with the network.

Kaohoon Turakij Newspaper reported this morning, citing a source familiar with the matter, that on May 7, 2025, ADVANC has formally presented a comprehensive business partnership proposal to National Telecom Public Company Limited (NT), aiming to transform Thailand’s telecommunications landscape.

In the proposal, ADVANC has expressed its intent to acquire all mobile phone customers from NT. The deal also involves renegotiation or termination of NT’s existing 700 MHz mobile service agreements and network equipment arrangements.

The objective is to offset costs and investments already made, relieving NT of long-term operational expenses linked to its mobile business. ADVANC states that, once the service migration to its own network is complete, it will be able to deliver higher-quality service in line with evolving consumer behavior.

In the broadband sector, ADVANC is seeking to purchase all of NT’s retail broadband customers. The telco also offered to lease and manage NT’s broadband network assets, ensuring seamless service continuity.

This collaboration, ADVANC argues, would allow NT to reduce operational management burdens while retaining its core role as owner of a critical national network. Additionally, it would minimize operating losses and enable NT to garner incremental revenues from its already-constructed infrastructure, thereby laying the foundation for long-term financial stability and business restructuring.

ADVANC believes that the dual-pronged proposal would yield both short- and long-term financial gains for NT—sufficient to support the company’s ongoing restructuring efforts and allow for expansion into new business segments. This would further reinforce NT’s position as a key national infrastructure provider, in alignment with state policy.

The proposed transaction represents a significant opportunity for NT to build greater business sustainability and financial strength amid an anticipated shift in its revenue structure over the next one to two years.

ADVANC asserts its readiness and capability to serve all existing NT customers nationwide, for both mobile and broadband services. This would alleviate NT from the complexities and costs associated with its current retail customer base.

A source familiar with the matter adds that ADVANC is currently conducting due diligence, assessing NT’s assets and liabilities to ensure full and accurate valuation. Upon completion of the due diligence process, ADVANC will present an official purchase offer to NT.
