B.Grimm and Druk Green Power Sign MOU to Develop Bhutan’s Solar Farm and Hydropower

Dr. Harald Link, Group President and Director of B.Grimm Power Public Company Limited (SET: BGRIM), announced that the company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Druk Green Power Corporation (DGPC) to jointly develop hydropower and solar energy projects in the Kingdom of Bhutan.

The signing ceremony took place in Thimphu, Bhutan, and was presided over by His Excellency Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay. The event was attended by Bhutan’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Thailand’s Consul-General to Bhutan, senior executives from BGRIM, and representatives from the Bhutanese government.

This agreement marks the first-ever Thai investment in Bhutan’s energy sector and underscores the shared commitment to promoting renewable energy in the region while enhancing bilateral cooperation between Thailand and Bhutan.

According to the MoU, both parties will jointly explore and develop selected hydropower and solar power projects, which will be executed through the establishment of a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) in Bhutan. This partnership will combine DGPC’s local energy system expertise with BGRIM’s technical know-how and investment capacity in clean energy across Asia.

Dr. Link added that this agreement not only represents a significant milestone in BGRIM’s international renewable energy expansion but also forges a meaningful relationship with the Kingdom of Bhutan—a nation deeply committed to sustainability and happiness. This philosophy aligns with B.Grimm’s guiding principle of “Doing Business with Compassion.”

BGRIM are truly honored to contribute to Bhutan’s green energy goals and to play a part in building a sustainable future for the region, said Dr. Link.

Dasho Chhewang Rinzin, Managing Director of DGPC, remarked, DGPC welcomed BGRIM as a mission-aligned partner in developing Bhutan’s abundant renewable energy potential. This collaboration is an important step in driving clean energy investments and advancing technology exchange between the two countries.

The selected projects will undergo rigorous technical and financial assessments, as well as comprehensive compliance with government approval processes and regulations by both parties.

This partnership reflects B.Grimm Power’s mission to expand its renewable energy portfolio throughout Asia, supporting energy security, climate change mitigation, and long-term sustainable development goals.
