Thai Consumer Confidence Slides for Seventh Month in August, Lowest in Nearly Three Years

Thai consumer sentiment fell for the seventh month in a row in August, reaching its lowest point in 32 months, according to a survey released on Thursday.

The University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce reported that its consumer confidence index slipped to 50.1 in August from 51.7 in July. The main concerns were a sluggish economic recovery, ongoing political uncertainty, and U.S. tariff measures.
