The share price of Energy Absolute Public Company Limited (SET: EA) and Nex Point Public Company Limited (SET: NEX) rose about 1.50% in the morning session on Wednesday, following the e-bidding for EV buses yesterday.
This development came after the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) opened the e-bidding system for the procurement of 1,520 clean energy air-conditioned buses (EV) on December 23, 2025, with a total project value of 15,355.6 million baht.
Following the completion of the e-bidding process, the auction committee will review the proposals and is expected to announce the winning bidder within December. It is anticipated that the contract with the selected contractor will be signed in late January 2026. Subsequently, the BMTA will begin receiving deliveries of the buses in 2027.
According to the TOR (Terms of Reference), the contractor is required to deliver 1,520 EV air-conditioned buses and 434 chargers at the locations specified by the BMTA within 360 days. The lease period is set for 7 years, with the delivery divided into three phases.
NEX and EA are among the 10 companies participating in this bidding process. It is reported that the companies previously expressing interest in joining the bid include Electric Vehicles (Thailand) Public Company Limited and Thai Smile Bus Company Limited. Nakhonchai Air Company Limited also participated.
Both NEX and EA have previously demonstrated readiness for this bid, and sources further noted that they best meet the TOR requirements.
