True Move H Universal Communication Co., Ltd., the licensee of telecommunications spectrum in the 700 MHz band, has paid the sixth installment of the spectrum license fee amounting to 1,881,488,000 baht (including VAT) to the Office of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) on January 8, 2026. The company also placed letters of guarantee from financial institutions to secure payment of the remaining installments in accordance with the license conditions.
The payment relates to the 700 MHz spectrum band (713–723 MHz paired with 768–778 MHz), previously held by dtac TriNet Co., Ltd. The payment was made by Mr. Narupon Rattanasamaharn, Head of Regulatory and Government Affairs Division, and and Ms. Kanokporn Kunchaicharoenkul, Head of Regulatory Strategy Department, True Corporation Plc. The payment was received by Mr. Sutisak Tantayotin, Deputy Secretary-General of the NBTC for Telecommunications, together with Mr. Poompat Palakarn, Executive Director, Public Relations Bureau, at the NBTC office.
True Corporation PCL (SET: TRUE) reaffirmed its commitment to maximizing the efficiency of spectrum usage across all frequency bands-low, mid, and high. The 700 MHz spectrum, classified as a low-band frequency, offers wide-area coverage and strong building penetration, enhancing service performance in urban areas, high-rise buildings, densely populated communities, rural regions, and remote locations.
From a technical perspective, the 700 MHz band can be utilized for both 4G and 5G services. For 4G, it strengthens baseline coverage and signal stability, supporting voice and data services over large areas. For 5G, the band expands high-speed network coverage beyond major cities, enabling broader access to 5G services while helping to offload traffic from mid- and high-band spectrum in high-usage areas.
Through continued deployment of the 700 MHz spectrum, True Corporation aims to further enhance network quality for both TrueMove H and dtac customers, supporting a wide range of digital use cases from essential communications to high-speed data services. These efforts also contribute to the long-term expansion of Thailand’s digital infrastructure and promote more equitable access to communications services nationwide.
