Advanced Info Service PCL (SET: ADVANC or AIS) announces that the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) has scheduled a national test of the emergency alert system via mobile phones using Cell Broadcast technology on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. The test will cover 76 provinces and Bangkok, confirming the readiness of the national alert system to send messages more quickly, comprehensively, and accurately.
During this test, citizens’ mobile phones within coverage areas will automatically display an alert tone and a notification message. This is only a test message from DDPM, stating: “Test alert. This is not a real situation. From the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM). Please do not panic.” The public is asked not to be alarmed and to acknowledge that this is not a real emergency.
AIS emphasizes for safety that the test message will not contain any attached links. If customers receive a message that invites them to click any link or provide personal information, please avoid it immediately, as it could be a scam impersonating the test.
Check your mobile readiness before test day:
- The alert will automatically display on the screen, even in silent/locked mode (depending on device compatibility)
- It is recommended to check/update your operating system to meet the testing requirements: Android 11 or above, or iOS 18 or above
- No additional app installation is required to receive the test message
AIS is ready to support government efforts to enhance the national alert system, ensuring the public receives rapid and comprehensive notifications in real emergencies. The public is requested to acknowledge the test on January 20, and help relay accurate information to reduce social panic.
