New Secretary-General and Two New Commissioners Named for the National Anti-Corruption Commission

Today (January 19, 2026), the Royal Gazette website published the announcement from the Office of the Prime Minister regarding the appointment of government officials and commissioners for the Office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC).

According to the royal command, Mr. Surapong Intarathaworn has been relieved from his position as Deputy Secretary-General of the NACC and appointed as Secretary-General of the NACC, effective from January 18, 2026. The royal command was countersigned by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul.

At the same time, the Royal Gazette also published the royal command appointing two additional NACC commissioners: Mr. Suchart Suntreekasem and Mr. Manuphan Yotthasaen, both to serve as commissioners effective immediately.

These appointments were made after Police General Watcharapol Prasarnrajkit, Chairman of the NACC, vacated office upon reaching the age of 70, and Mrs. Suwanna Suwanjuta, NACC commissioner, finished her term as stipulated by law.

The Senate has approved the candidates with the necessary qualifications and without any prohibitive characteristics, to be appointed as NACC commissioners under Article 232 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand. Mr. Mongkol Surasajja, President of the Senate, was the one who countersigned the royal command.
