Alibaba Launches Wukong AI Platform for Business Automation

Alibaba Group has rolled out a new AI platform, Wukong, for business automation, responding to heightened competition in China’s enterprise AI sector driven by recent enthusiasm for OpenClaw. The release aims to strengthen Alibaba’s position in the rapidly advancing field of AI agents for corporate applications.

Wukong, developed by Alibaba’s Wukong unit within the newly formed Alibaba Token Hub business group, enables management of a range of business tasks—such as editing documents, updating spreadsheets, transcribing meetings, and conducting research—all through a unified interface. Currently, the platform is available to select users on an invitation-only beta basis.

The solution is accessible in two main ways: as a downloadable standalone desktop application and as an integrated AI agent in DingTalk, Alibaba’s workplace collaboration platform that supports more than 20 million enterprise clients. Alibaba intends to extend Wukong’s reach to other workplace tools such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, and WeChat in the future.

The Wukong platform was introduced shortly after Alibaba announced a structural reshuffle that established the ATH business group, indicating a broader organizational move into enterprise AI solutions. Wukong stands as the primary product emerging from this internal reorganization and strategic shift.
