Pakistan Offers to Facilitate US-Iran Dialogue amid Escalating Middle East Conflict

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed readiness to mediate discussions between the United States and Iran aimed at ending the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. This follows President Donald Trump’s decision to delay military action against Iranian power infrastructure, citing progress in discussions.

Through a message posted on X, Prime Minister Sharif conveyed Pakistan’s endorsement of diplomatic initiatives to help resolve hostilities in the region. He stated that Pakistan supports all efforts towards dialogue and a peaceful settlement.

On Monday, President Trump announced that the United States and Iran had engaged in what he described as constructive talks focused on a comprehensive end to violence in the Middle East. In contrast, Iranian authorities refuted claims of any direct engagement, labeling reports of negotiations as misinformation and attributing such assertions to military and media tactics.

Meanwhile, attacks in the region have continued. Reports on Tuesday indicated that Iran launched multiple missile assaults at Tel Aviv, resulting in significant structural damage and injuring at least four individuals. In southern Lebanon, the National News Agency reported that Israeli military operations in and near Nabatieh led to several fatalities, including two emergency workers.
