KH Academy continues to advance the core mission of ‘Kaohoon Turakij’ by disseminating knowledge to the public as part of its efforts to drive and enhance the quality of Thai society. The institution has launched the KH Legal Aid project, providing free legal seminars to the public to help provide an understanding of legal rights and duties while reducing the risk of legal violations.
On Saturday, March 28, 2026, the seminar was held under the topic “The SEC’s Mission in Supervising and Maintaining Stability in the Thai Capital Market,” at the KH Academy Ratchathewi Campus. Esteemed speakers from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) included Ms. Sireethorn Civilize, Ph.D, Director of the Investment Management Policy Department, and Mr. Nirun Aramratanapan, Ph.D, Assistant Director of the Investment Management Supervision Department.
Both speakers shared insights into the SEC’s comprehensive role in maintaining the stability of the Thai capital market, aiming to elevate public knowledge and foster investor confidence.
Ms. Sireethorn Civilize provided an in-depth analysis of the structure and operational mechanisms guided by ethical standards in the SEC’s profession, covering both regulatory and investor protection aspects. She discussed the responsibilities of related capital market participants, such as fund managers and asset management companies (AMC), emphasizing ethical conduct, prioritizing investor benefits, providing accurate information, and safeguarding investors’ interests. She concluded by highlighting key trends transforming the fund industry, such as the growing momentum of ESG investing (environmental, social, and governance investing) and digital assets, to illustrate the importance of preparedness for future opportunities in a timely and secure manner.
Following this, Mr. Nirun Aramratanapan expanded on the importance of fund managers and AMCs as intermediaries that bolster investor confidence and alleviate investor concerns, aligning with the vital role of the SEC in communicating, monitoring, and enhancing the operational standards of the Thai capital market. He emphasized that investors, upon receiving information from fund managers or AMCs, should seek further information and make investment decisions consistent with their life goals and personal risk tolerance, rather than following market trends, since individual risk capacities differ. Regularly staying informed is also vital for careful decision-making.
Participants unanimously agreed that the KH Legal Aid provided valuable legal knowledge and exclusive investment insight, applicable to future investment decisions, and reduced the risk of falling victim to various forms of fraud. The seminar will continue to be held once a month, free of charge. Updates and details can be found on Facebook, Instagram, and the KH Academy application, available for download on both Android and iOS.
