On Monday, Thailand’s SET Index closed the morning trading session at 1,636.96 points, showing a decrease of 2.08 points or 0.13%, with a trading value of THB 48.48 billion.
UOB Kay Hian Securities (Thailand) stated that the Thai stock market moved within a narrow range in the morning, facing pressure from profit-taking in the electronics components sector following the global reduction in the weighting of technology stocks.
However, Thailand has benefited from fund inflows into other sectors. This morning, shares in the energy sector rose in line with higher oil prices, while the financial sector experienced buying interest after KTC reported strong financial results.
For the afternoon session, the market is expected to continue trading within a narrow range. Notably, banking stocks have already risen considerably and are approaching key resistance levels.
While overall market sentiment remains positive, in the short term, further upside for the SET Index may be limited, according to the brokerage. The support level is assessed at 1,623 points, with resistance seen at 1,650–1,660 points.
