True Corporation (SET: TRUE) has urgently mobilized its northern network teams in response to severe flooding in Nan and Phayao provinces, following continuous heavy rainfall that has triggered flash floods, particularly in Pua district, Nan province, where water levels have risen rapidly, affecting homes and major roads.
True Corporation is closely monitoring the situation and the status of both its mobile and home internet networks, as well as potential impacts across affected areas. The company has activated its Northern Command Center at True’s Chiang Mai office as the central hub for coordinating emergency network operations and has mobilized field teams from across northern Thailand to support operations in Nan. Personnel, equipment, backup power systems and Cell-on-Wheels (COWs) are on standby to help maintain continuity of communication services for the public and agencies operating in affected areas.
At the same time, True Corporation, in collaboration with the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), has issued a severe emergency alert via the Cell Broadcast System to people in Pua district, Nan province, warning them of potential flash floods, overflowing waterways and landslides. Residents have been advised to immediately move belongings to higher ground and relocate vulnerable people, including the elderly and bedridden patients, to safe areas, as well as seek assistance from local authorities if evacuation is required.
To safeguard network operations, True Corporation has prioritized base stations in high-risk areas, particularly Critical Cell Sites serving hospitals, command centers, public assistance centers and critical infrastructure. Teams are closely monitoring power supply, transmission systems, site accessibility and base station status to assess potential risks and enable rapid response should the network be affected.
True’s network teams have also prepared COWs, temporary cell sites, generators, backup power systems, field equipment and essential vehicles, with repair and network reinforcement teams ready for immediate deployment as soon as affected locations can be safely accessed. True is coordinating closely with the Office of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), DDPM, government agencies, local administrative organizations, rescue teams and other relevant organizations to support communications in disaster-affected areas, evacuation centers and emergency assistance centers.
True is prioritizing the continuity of communications and connectivity across both its mobile and home internet networks throughout the crisis, enabling people to stay in contact with their families, request emergency assistance and continuously receive official alerts from government agencies. The networks also support coordination among rescue teams and government authorities. All field operations will be conducted in accordance with government safety guidance and actual accessibility conditions to ensure that network maintenance and restoration can be carried out as quickly and safely as possible.
