Charoen Pokphand Group (CP Group), Arise Ventures Group (Arise), True Corporation, and Amazon today announced a collaboration to help position CP Group and Arise as a regional AI Lighthouse and strengthen Thailand’s AI competitiveness and digital economy.
Announced at CP Group’s ”Thailand AI National Mission” event, the collaboration brings together CP Group’s industry leadership and expertise, and direct access to millions of Thai customers with Amazon’s global experience in eCommerce, AI, and customer experience. Through Amazon Web Services (AWS), the collaboration aims to accelerate transformation across CP Group’s business. Over five years, the parties intend to build capabilities in AI, cloud infrastructure, digital services, and talent development with the goal of contributing to Thailand’s broader economy.

The collaboration will focus on the following priority areas:
Digital and AI Enablement for Thais: CP Group, Arise Ventures Group and True Corporation have set a goal to deliver one of the largest private-sector digital enablement commitments in Thailand’s history, with a goal of training millions of people with cloud and AI skills over the coming years. The initiative is designed to help address a critical gap: according to the International Telecommunication Union, approximately 74 percent of Thai youth and adults currently lack foundational digital skills.
To support this ambition, CP Group intends to work with AWS as an enablement partner to reach up to three million people across Thailand, including its own employees, by combining AI learning pathways, hands-on training, certifications, and real-world innovation programs to promote AI Adoption readiness, with the goal of building Thai AI talent.
In support of this goal, CP Group, Arise Ventures Group and True Corporation also introduced “AI FOR ALL”, a national AI innovation hackathon powered by AWS. Open to all Thai citizens aged 18 and above, the hackathon challenges professionals, students, and citizens across Thailand to build generative AI prototypes that address national challenges in areas such as healthcare, agriculture, and education.
Telecommunications: The collaboration supports True Corporation’s ambition to become AI-first organization. AWS and CP Group envision working together to help establish a cloud operating model that strengthens application resilience, security and governance across True’s IT environment. AI-powered customer service capabilities are expected to enable more intelligent, responsive digital channels for subscribers. The collaboration also aims to deploy predictive maintenance and real-time fault resolution capabilities to help reduce manual network interventions. True also intends to explore how Amazon Leo’s connectivity services, provided through its Thai landing rights holder, could extend broadband access to underserved communities across Thailand.
Financial Services: Ascend Money, an Arise-affiliated fintech company, plans to run its AI-driven credit scoring and loan origination capabilities on AWS, with the goal of extending financial access to underbanked Thai citizens. The fintech platform also intends to use AI to strengthen e-KYC, identity verification, and fraud detection, as well as enable more personalized, persona-based wealth management.
AI Center of Excellence: CP Group is expanding the capabilities of its existing AI Center of Excellence with AWS’s support to accelerate innovation and drive operational excellence across CP Group’s businesses. Initial priorities include a unified customer identity system – Single ID, retail and supply chain optimization, customer experience transformation, and next-generation digital services. AWS is also bringing tools like Kiro, its AI-powered software development environment, and Amazon Quick, its generative AI assistant for workplace productivity, to help CP Group’s developers build faster and more securely. To support this transformation, AWS plans to provide a cross-functional team of resources who will work alongside CP Group’s and True’s technology teams.

Retail and e-commerce: CP Group’s ambition is to reimagine the shopping experience by transforming more than 19,000 locations across 7-Eleven, Lotus’s, and Makro from places where people buy things into journeys that anticipate, personalize, and delight. The collaboration with AWS envisions cloud-native supply chain planning capabilities, including machine-learning-based demand forecasting to improve stock availability and optimize inventory across the network. The parties also intend to develop an intelligent retail media network along with real-time conversion tracking capabilities. Computer vision is expected to provide operational intelligence for store compliance monitoring and shelf management, helping to streamline operations.

Mr. Suphachai Chearavanont, Senior Vice Chairman of Charoen Pokphand Group, Chairman and CEO of Arise Ventures Group, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of True Corporation Plc. said, “AI will play a pivotal role in Thailand’s transformation and presents a major opportunity to strengthen the country’s competitiveness, move beyond the middle-income trap, and improve quality of life for Thai people. This could be one of the most significant transformations we have ever seen. Thailand must not be only a user of technology, but must build a strong AI ecosystem and participate across the full AI value chain from energy, data centers and infrastructure to AI models and applications that will become part of every industry and everyday life. This will strengthen national capabilities, attract investment and global talent, and create new opportunities for future generations.”
“The collaboration among CP Group, Arise Ventures Group, True Corporation, Amazon and AWS will be an important force in building Thailand’s AI foundations from infrastructure and real-world business applications to the startup ecosystem and AI talent development. Our goal goes beyond the success of any single organization. It is to strengthen Thailand’s competitiveness and build a robust AI ecosystem that can scale from Thailand to the regional and global stage, supporting the country’s ambition to become a Regional AI Hub in a sustainable way.”

Sigve Brekke, Executive Chair Tech Telco and Digital Business of Arise Ventures Group and Group CEO of True Corporation Plc. said, “AI creates real value when it improves customers’ lives and experiences, reshapes how businesses operate, and becomes a long-term engine of growth that strengthens Thailand’s competitiveness. This partnership brings together the strengths of CP Group, Arise and True with Amazon and AWS’s global technology, expertise and innovation, under a five-year commitment to drive five game-changing AI strategies for Thailand. Together, we aim to turn our AI ambition into tangible impact by winning through customer experience across CP Group, reimagining retail and commerce at scale, building an AI-Native Bank through Ascend Money, strengthening secure and resilient Sovereign Infrastructure, and equipping three million people in Thailand with AI skills and expertise. Everything we do will be governed by Responsible AI, enabling Thailand to benefit from the best global technology while maintaining the trust, governance and critical capabilities the country needs.”

Jaime Valles, Vice President and Managing Director, Asia Pacific, Japan & China, Amazon Web Services said, “We’re bringing the full breadth of AWS’s cloud and AI capabilities, and our culture of innovation to help transform how Thailand builds, innovates, and prospers. Working alongside CP Group, Arise, and True Corporation, this collaboration aims to accelerate AI adoption across telecommunications, financial services, retail, and workforce development to drive true transformation at scale across Thailand.”
