CP Axtra Public Company Limited (SET: CPAXT), operator of wholesale “Makro” and retail “Lotus’s” businesses, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Global Green Chemicals Public Company Limited (SET: GGC)—a subsidiary of PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited (SET: GC)—to collect used cooking oil (UCO) from CP Axtra branches, its group companies, and networks. The collected oil will be refined and upcycled to create new value.
This collaboration aims to systematically collect and aggregate used cooking oil, with an expected collection volume of approximately 300,000 liters per year. The oil will then undergo quality improvement to be used as a raw material for producing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), bioplastics, and biochemicals, promoting resource utilization under the circular economy concept.

Crucially, this partnership reflects CP Axtra’s approach to putting circular economy principles into practice by turning operational waste into valuable raw materials. If the study is successful, there is an opportunity to expand into SAF production, linking resource management at the store level with greenhouse gas reduction in the aviation sector.”

Moving from used cooking oil at each branch to raw materials for new value creation, this collaboration between CP Axtra and GGC marks another step in turning the concept of “waste” into “opportunity” through efficient resource utilization and extending into products that support the transition toward a low-carbon economy in the future.
