Apple Reportedly Told Suppliers Demand for iPhone Slumped

Apple Inc. has reportedly informed its parts suppliers that demand for iPhone 13 line up has slowed down, according to Bloomberg citing people familiar with the matter.

According to the report, the company had earlier cut down production of the said line up as many as 10 million units amid chip shortages and told it suppliers that those order may not be required.

Reuters reported it has reached out to Apple and some of its supplier 3M Co., Broadcom Inc and Advanced Micro Devices but they did not respond immediately.

Global chip shortage due to high demand for gadgets during the pandemic has stretched to every aspect of electronic production process.

Earlier last month Nikkei reported Apple had cut back on iPad production to allocate more chips for iPhone 13 production.
