Retail and Construction Material Stocks Edge Lower as Flooding Situation Slows Down Purchasing Power

Retail and construction material stocks closed lower on Monday amid the ongoing heavy rain and flooding in Thailand, especially Bangkok.

The share price of Dohome Public Company Limited (SET: DOHOME) fell THB0.40 or 3.08% to close at THB12.60 per share.

Siam Global House Public Company Limited (SET: GLOBAL) dropped THB0.40 or 2.09% to close at THB18.70 per share.

Home Product Center Public Company Limited (SET: HMPRO) slipped THB0.30 or 2.21% to close at THB13.30 per share.

Meanwhile, Index Living Mall Public Company Limited (SET: ILM) closed flat at THB16.50 per share.

Thailand’s SET Index closed at 1,570.57 points, decreased 9.09 points or 0.58% with a trading value of 53 billion baht.

Capital Nomura Securities said the share prices of retail and construction materials stocks fell on Monday due to the flood situation in many central areas and northeastern areas of Thailand. The buying power is slowing down in the short term, including damage to some branches.

Capital Nomura Securities recommends waiting for the situation to pass by looking at HMPRO and ILM in speculation that the profit in 3Q22 should be growing.
