BGRIM Partners with PTTGC to Develop 8MW Solar Power System

B.Grimm Power Smart Solution Co., Ltd. (BGPSS), a subsidiary of B.Grimm Power Public Company Limited (SET: BGRIM)—one of Thailand’s leading energy companies—signed a power purchase agreement with PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited (SET: PTTGC), a global leader in the chemical industry, to develop an 8-megawatt solar power system.

The project will be installed on PTTGC’s plant in the Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate, Rayong Province. Its objective is to replace fossil fuel-based electricity used in PTTGC’s production processes with clean solar energy, supporting PTTGC’s Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions target and the broader transition toward renewable energy.

Nopadej Karnasuta, Co-President – Thailand Business and Energy & Industrial Solutions Business at BGRIM, stated that this collaboration with PTTGC will accelerate the development of clean energy businesses, expand investment across the ASEAN region and increase the share of renewable energy.

The partnership aligns with BGRIM’s GreenLeap-Global and Green strategy, designed to answer the rapidly changing energy landscape and evolving customer needs by providing stable, accessible, and sustainable energy to the industry, on the company’s path to becoming a world-class energy producer, he added.

Nopadej further noted BGRIM’s commitment to expanding renewable power investment domestically and internationally, with new projects underway or under development in South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, the Philippines, Cambodia, Greece, the United States, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Thailand.

This expansion is a key step toward increasing renewable energy’s share above 50%, mitigating long-term risks from gas price volatility, and extending strategic business partnerships. BGRIM is targeting a total installed capacity of 10,000 megawatts by 2030 and Net Zero status by 2065.

The company is dedicated to enhancing and expanding its renewable energy business in line with its corporate vision of “Empowering the World Compassionately”, Nopadej concluded.

Toasaporn Boonyapipat, President of PTTGC, commented that PTTGC is committed to integrating business growth with sustainable industrial development, focusing on reducing environmental impact, curbing global warming, and cutting greenhouse gas emissions through a circular economy approach.

The company partnership with BGRIM is a concrete demonstration of PTTGC’s role in driving renewable energy adoption in the industrial sector, advancing the balance of Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) for a Net Zero goal by 2050. The company believes this cooperation will unlock even more clean energy and innovative projects to foster sustainability as well as long-term energy security for the country.

PTTGC has been steadily implementing solar and renewable energy systems across its factories to reduce fossil fuel dependence and enhance sustainable energy use. In 2024, PTTGC reduced its grid electricity emission factor—resulting in a reduction of 57,885 tons of greenhouse gas annually. The company is committed to further increasing its share of renewables through partnerships across all sectors.

This solar project marks a major step for both companies in driving Thailand’s energy transition and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, in line with their Net Zero Emissions targets.

The signing not only underscores both BGRIM and PTTGC’s vision for clean energy, but also highlights the collective effort of two leading Thai organizations supporting the global fight against climate change and elevating Thai industry towards genuine environmental friendliness.
