Bloomberg reported that the U.S. is planning to curb AI chip exports to some countries, with Thailand and Malaysia potentially being on list. This would significantly affect several tech companies and related industries, including Siam AI Corporation Company Limited.
A source familiar with the matter stated that the U.S. is pushing for this restriction to prevent China from accessing American advanced semiconductor technology through third parties. Its regulation details, however, are still under review.
One of the companies being affected directly is Thailand’s Siam AI as the company is NVIDIA Cloud Partner since September 2024. The America’s leading chip manufacturer also provided Siam AI with HGX, H200, and H100 to operate its AI basic infrastructure.
Mr. Ratanaphon Wongnapachant, CEO of Siam AI, told Kaohoon that currently, the company cannot determine the scale of impact from this restriction until detailed regulations and guidelines are announced.
So far, Siam AI confirmed that NVIDIA’s shipment is scheduled to arrive without any delay or restriction.
